Milton Keynes Education Trust was established with the aim of improving education provision by creating and developing a mutually beneficial partnership between academies (sponsored or converter) and free schools.

As a growing multi-academy trust, professional development opportunities and career progression for both teaching and support staff within MKET’s schools and at Trust level are excellent.

The research commissioned by the DfE into high performing multi-academy trusts identified that the most successful trusts have a judicious blend of sponsored and converter academies that cover both the primary and secondary phase.

Since its establishment in 2011, MKET has grown gradually to allow time for its systems and infrastructure to be developed and embedded.  MKET now has the capacity needed to successfully expand and further develop its school improvement work.

The three aspects of MKET’s growth strategy are shown below:

MKET welcomes enquiries to join the Trust from schools that share the same vision and values.

The Trust is particularly interested in hearing from schools that believe they can make a positive contribution to the Trust’s school improvement work.
